Members of the public are able to put questions to the Commissioner, or to the Panel, at every meeting. Questions need to be asked in writing and must be submitted to the Panel no later than two weeks prior to the date of the meeting. Members of the Panel can ask a supplementary question, once they have heard the response.
Questions can be about any policy issue relating to policing in Sussex, but not related to operational matters or a live case.
Questions and their answers are recorded in the minutes of the meeting, together with the name of the questioner.
Names will be withheld at the questioner’s request.
